The Jewels
Created in 2025, Gator Gator celebrates the time-old traditions of folk art and handicraft, drawing inspiration from textiles, religious texts, primitive metalwork, and perfect patterns in nature. It recognizes the sacred in the human craving for adornment. Talismans created in slow, ancient processes offer the magic of earth's material to the wearer, serving as reminders of the divine in the everyday.
The Maker
Martha Sudderth creates her pieces from her home studio in Austin, Texas. Born and raised a few hours north in Fort Worth, she has always been influenced by the colors and textures of her home state. She received her BA in fine art in Minnesota before returning home to learn all she can about metalwork. Never one to be able to commit to a single pursuit, she loves to experiment and incorporate lots of facets of the craft into her pieces, from fabrication to lost wax casting to CAD modeling. She is on a lifelong pursuit of the perfect ring.
